Describes the two religious rituals performed by the Subanen in Sitio Mangitum, Zamboanga del Sur. These are performed in the construction of buklug structure, the makhano sinulampong and the sinulampong memata, which become complex in the Subanen's belief in two religious settings, the gokuman and the gasal. Makhano sinulampong is a ritual intended to seek permission from diwata to gather wood and other forest products for the construction of buklug and sinulampong memata is the actual gathering of materials. The other buklug documented are socio-religious ceremonies signifying a panata or vow of a particular individual, in this particular case Datu Guilinga, an acknowledged leader of the Subanens.
