The resistance movement in Lanao, 1942-1945

Annotation

The study shows that the forces that deterred and brought about the unification of Muslims and Christians in Lanao. It illustrates how resistance fighters tackled and surmounted hardships through three long years of Japanese occupation. Varying effects of the war are pointed out like destruction of infrastructures and properties. But in the political aspect, it catapulated many local leaders to high positions which used to be that of the Americans and Christian Filipinos.
