This work describes and documents the changes that have occurred int eh society and culture of the Jama Mapun for the past seventy years. The changes, grouped into political, economic, and religious categories, are dissected in terms of their sociological implication. Some brief comparative notes on similar studies dealing with the problem of change in other neighboring societies are provided in the text. A brief description of Jama Mapun language is also given with a glossary of Muslim terms is included in the appendix.
