The article traces historically the causes behind the conflict between the Christians and the Muslims. Firstly, it cites the fact that the Spaniards used the Christianized indios in their military expeditions against the Muslims, which made the Muslims hate their brothers from the north. The indios were in turn taught to hate the Muslims as enemies of their new faith and as henchmen of the devil. The author presents a plan which seeks to resolve the deadlock in the Jeddah talks and calls for the creation of an autonomous state.
