This article presents the birth of alternative film in Mindanao as a number of development institutions and the NGOs have recognized media as an effective tool in education. With a minimal budget, a handy camera, a trained cameraman and able talents in the field of writing and directing, one can come up with a play or docmentary that tackles relevant regional issues.
