The study shows that nitrogen efficiency does not vary significantly among the cultivars in that all cultivars were efficient in utilizing nitrogen. However, plants treated with thirty kg N/ha obtained the highest percentage. Grain yield correlated significantly with ear length, seed weight/ear, average number of kennels/row and weight of 1000 kernels.
