The composing of four Filipino bilingual writers

Annotation

The subjects of this study are selected from a remedial English class at MSU-IIT, two more proficient and two less proficient. It is limited to the composing process of non-native speakers of English. Based on the results, the four bilingual writers composed in two ways following the non-linear or recursive pattern. The transcribed protocols indicate that the writers had difficulty in establishing semantic relationships between words, phrases or clauses on the sentence level than in establishing transition between sentences. Less proficient students found difficulty in vocabulary, spelling, pronunciation marks, sentence structure and tenses.
