The amphibians of Mt. Kimangkil range Mindanao Island, Philippines

Annotation

Mt. Kimangkil Range in Bukidnon stands as one of the last frontiers of primary forest is a habitat of diversified species. A total of nineteen species exist, twelve are regarded as endemic and four are considered new species. The new species are: Kalophrynus pleurostigma, Ansomia muelleri, Philautus sp. 1 and Philautus sp. 2. Discovery of these four new possible species implies the rich biota that the range harbors. Protection of the habitat of many species of amphibians is needed to prevent the loss of endemic species.
