Tapping corn for higher production

Annotation

The primary objectives of the study are to: 1) evaluate the agronomic parameters of corn as influenced by different stages of tapping, 2) maximized the utilization of the dry matter yield of corn plant as feedstuff of animals, 3) determine the yield performance and profitability of corn production as affected by the different stages of tapping. The result of the study reveals that tapping the upper portion of corn plant right after the earnode has no significant effect on its grain yield, hence, the tapped leaves can still be utilized as feedstuff to animals, thereby maximizing the economic importance of corn plant.
