The project covers sixteen barangays of the municipality of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. Funded by the Asian Development Bank and coordinated with the Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE), Department of Education and Sports (DECS), and the local government of Colombio, the sixth-month literacy project (October 2000-March 2001) administered by the then Notre Dame of Tacurong President Sr. Leonor Pagorogon, OP, trained 2,500 enrollees in literacy skills (reading and oral communication, writing, and numeracy) and in functional skills (livelihood skills like dressmaking, handicraft, radio repair, cooperatives, etc.).
