Solid waste management in General Santos City

Annotation

The study gathers baseline data and comprehensive background on the existing solid waste management project in the city, identified problems and opportunities for prospective private entrepreneurs interested in garbage business. The findings reveal: (1) household trash consist of biodegradable (fifty-eight percent) and non-biodegradable (forty percent) materials, (2) household trash increase by 10.6 percent annually while industrial waste increase by seven percent per annum, (3) city garbage collectors lack skills to properly manage solid waste.
