The study reveals that a typical rural household would spend in a large part of its income for energy expenditure on biomass fuels compared to other types regardless of income class. Primary cooking made up significantly a large portion (82.08 percent) of the over-all energy requirement for rural household using fuel wood stove with an average of 2.89 hours per day. Most of the fuels used by farmers are non-traded, primarily fuel wood and coconut by-products.
