To meet the present need of producing reliable population estimates, the Mindanao Center for Population Studies (MCPS) is undertaking a population study that employs the new system of data gathering, the dual records approach. The center has two representative samples: Cagayan de Oro poblacion for the urban population and the Alubijid-Laguindingan district for the rural population.
