Study shows that the common pesticides used in farming are Decis R, Lambast, Zinc phosphide and Kuhold. Farmers rely on radio plugs, television spots, brochures or leaflets, video showing, training/seminars, the Fertilizer and Pesticides Authority (FPA), extension workers, and co-farmers as their source of information. Farmer respondents manifest knowledge and understanding of precautionary measures in handling and usage of pesticide, thus minimal or no cases of pesticide poisoning are reported among farmers included in the study.
