Compares the ratoon performance of different recommended rice varieties in a simulated condition at Ipil Experiment Station. Among the seven varieties tested, IR 66 and IR 72 obtained a significant higher ratoon yield. The researchers also recommend varieties IR 66, IR 72 and IR 10 for a rain fed lowland rice area where only one cropping of rice is practiced due to soil moisture limitation for the second crop planting.
