Perceptions on peace education issues: Basis for and enriched curricular program

Annotation

Determines the levels of secondary students' and teachers' perceptions on peace education issues in five Catholic secondary schools of Lanao del Norte, school year 1997-1998. The study reveals a weakness of transferring teachers' knowledge on peace issues to the students, lack of emphasis on issues of globalization, militarization, and cultural solidarity. The present educational system does not fully lead to a style of educating the students to be issue-oriented and relate these issues to their lives.
