This study aims to determine the herbage yield and longevity of different forage species as affected by priming scheme under coconut. The first priming is done after four months of establishment. The succeeding priming is done at thirty-five days intervals until the end of the study. From the average of six priming, the results reveal significantly high herbage yield for solaria and Napier with centrosema. It is observed that solaria and guinea grasses produce more suckers, as they grow older while Napier reduces yield and finally dies when dry season comes after two years. These two grasses are still considered a good pasture grass under coco-based farming system provided Napier shall be replanted every after two years.
