Data reveals that USM Var 2 had stable yield and the rest of the USM OPVs snowed good fields. Only one new hybrid (USMARC 9612) developed at the center showed good yield. Variety verification trials for white and yellow corn using inorganic and organic fertilizers where Pioneer 3014 exhibited the highest yield while IPB got the lowest. The grain yield performance of white OPV was low due to poor plant density and ear rot damage. Using eight bags of inorganic fertilizer, Pioneer 3022 was the highest yielder and still obtained the highest yield when applied with eight bags of organic fertilizer. USM Var 2 had the lowest yield only.
