Presents the role Malaysia plays in the peace negotiations between GRP and the MILF. Findings reveal that Malaysia serves not only as a facilitator, but also as a mediator because it had in various stages actually suggested and promoted a certain direction for the parties for the resolution of the armed conflict. Malaysia indeed has the capability, the clout, and the interest or motivation to play a bigger and more active mediator role in the GRP-MILF peace negotiations.
