Fungal pathogens causing diseases of some plants are reported for the first time as accruing in the Philippines. Leaf spots, blights, and rust are encountered on seventeen plant hosts: Ipomoeae tricolor, Heliconia psittacorum, Heliotropium indicum, cassia alata, Impaticia gendarussa, Gypsophilla paniculata, Zingiber officinale, Bougainvillea apectabilis, Euphorbia pulcherrima, Dracaena thalioides, Syzyguim cumini, Terminalia catappa, Artocarpus odoratissima, and Dactypoctenium aegyptium. These diseases are caused by seven genera and species of fungi: Collectotrichum gloesporioides, Fusarium monilifororme, Thielaviopsis (Chalara) paradoxa, Truncatella (Pestalotia) mangifexea, Lasiodiplodia theobromae, Rhizoctonia solani, and Uromyces dactyloctenii. Their identity have been confirmed both under laboratory and field conditions.
