National cooperative testing on cassava and sweet potato

Annotation

Findings of the study on sweet potato show that the yield during the wet season is very low because the entries are not able to tolerate continuous occurrence of rain and soil compaction. During the dry season, OPS 111 obtains the highest yield followed by LG 19A-10 and G46-1A. This year, no entries on cassava are able to surpass the yield of the check variety (CV-2). Data reveal that the highest yielder among the accessions is CMP 32-10. Based on the average yield (multilocation trials), CMP 62-15, CMP 21-15 and CM 3422-1 are recommended to the National Seed Industry for variety approval.
