In this study, long-observed customs and traditions of the Muslim Filipinos as recognized, respected, and tolerated by Philippine government are discussed lengthily. This works attempts to answer some questions regarding Muslim marriage customs and practices vis-a-vis Philippine law. Such questions center on the effect of the Philippine law on Muslim marriage customs, Muslim jurisprudence and treatises dealing with the subject: the laws, codes, and cases that have to do with them, and other pertinent matters like divorce and polygamy.
