Metacognitive learning strategies in reading: Their effects on writing competence

Annotation

The study tries to find out the relative contributions of reading-writing attitudes, reading interest and reading proficiency on the writing competence of freshmen college students. of the Iligan Medical Center Colleges. Study reveals that metacognitive strategies instruction contributed to the improvement of low reading learners. It implies that integration of MCS in reading lessons have favorable effects on the development of the learners' writing competence.
