Marketing copra in Misamis Oriental

Marketing of copra in the province of Misamis Oriental is studied with 144 coconut producers as respondents. The basic information gathered covers the producers and their farms, pre-sale practices, marketing practices, marketing cost and its composition, producers' share of the export price and marketing margins, and the problems confronting the producer. Four types of buyers are identified namely: local buyers, truckers, supplies, and exporters. The six marketing problems reported by the producers are: no quality pricing, high credit cost, absence of reliable weighing scale, violent price fluctuation, centrralized price information and absence of good read.
