The mudcrab of the genus Scylla is a very economically important crustacean resource in Panguil Bay. The fishery is threatened by a lot of intermingling factors which community base management should look into for protection and conservation. Studies conducted on its fishery and aquaculture reveals that its production is alarming. Coordination among local government officials, fishermen directly dependent on the mudcrabs for livelihood and the academe, and finding agencies is strongly recommended for tenable management of this resource.
