Long tem effect of intercropping legume on corn yield

Annotation

Involves a long-term observation to evaluate the effect of different legumes intercropped and as mulch on corn yield and soil fertility. After four consecutive crop years, corn yield obtained from mulching and intercropping is comparable with corn monoculture applied with inorganic fertilizer at recommended rate. Among the legumes studied, cowpea shows the most promising.
