The article describes Kidapawan as a future summer resort of the South as what the word Kidapawan means in the local dialect (to live near the spring of the highland). It mentions that before the opening of the Cotabato- Davao National Highway which crossed the heart of Kidapawan in 1963, the whole "unexplored region" was populated only by the Manobos and Bagobos who subsisted by the kaingin culture. The only Christian inhabitants were the very few public school teachers assigned to open up schools in the scattered settlements of the natives. This article includes directories of the municipal government, classroom teachers and the commercial directory.
