An ethnographic study of Filipinos of Japanese descent in the Philippines, particularly those residing in Davao. The study may serve as indicator to the current state of Philippine-Japanese relations and foreign policies affecting them. Forty respondents were requested to fill out questionnaires which revealed their low socio-economic status, successful life stories, general living conditions, thoughts as to their national identity. The study also made use of a Japanese government survey on Filipino of Japanese descent which has not been disclosed in the Philippines and a JICA survey.
