An ethnographic description and analysis of the agricultural rites of the Jamoyawon, a barrio in the municipality of Del Carmen, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. Rituals are investigated and categorized into several classes based on the purpose of the rite and the nature of the offering. It is found out that in observing the land clearing rituals, the Jamoyawon make a legitimate claim to their land rights.
