This is a critical analysis and interpretation of the stories of Ibrahim Jubaira through the medium of his short stories, depicts the plight of the Muslim Filipinos. Through his characters, the mind and soul of a people very little understood by the rest of the Filipinos are dramatized. The overall purpose is to arouse a more sympathetic attitude toward the Muslims and to promote a better appreciation of the works of Ibrahim, which serve as the mouthpiece of about four million generally misunderstood Filipinos. The themes of loneliness and despair, boredom, guilt, hatred and fear are found prevalent in the stories analyzed. The author, however, implies that such themes do not constitute the whole truth in real Muslim life.
