This paper reports the fruitful meeting between top rebel leader, Ustadz Ismael, and President Marcos on 18 July 1975 at Lamitan, Basilan. The significance of Ustadz Ismaelis "Reconciliatory" appearance at the peace conference was the agreement that if the rebels would lay down their arms, they would be gainfully employed.
