White lauan wildlings gradually exposed to sunlight exhibits bigger diameter growth increment than those wildlings shaded at noontime (treatment B) of only 0.06mm. Analysis shows that the gradually exposed to sunlight influenced the diameter growth of white lauan. The significant effect is probably due to the effect of sunlight to the plant food production. It is also observed that this has higher survival than those wildlings shaded at noontime.
