Compares the growth performance, age at sexual maturity and semen characteristics of 12 Large White, 12 Landrace and 2 Large White x Landrace Cross boars. Semen is collected in three stages, at age of puberty, at seven-month old and at eight-month old boars. Findings show that the number of feeding days to reach the desired weight of ninety kg growth rate, feed consumption and feed efficiency are not significantly different among the breeds. The crossbred boars are slightly younger than the purebreds at first successful collection of semen.
