Grouper in cages

Annotation

The project is a demo like system which is not patterned with any experimental research design. This is conducted in Dimalooc Cove, a territorial water of Panguil Bay. Four units floating net cages measuring 3.0 x 3.0 x 1.5 meters each cages are laid-out in an area with water depthness of about 1.5 meters during the lowest low tide. Stocking densities of 90 pieces of fish is employed for cages 1,2,3 and 4. Trash fish is utilized as feed with feeding ration of eight of the total body weight (BW) for the first months and reduced to 5 percent for the succeeding months. It is recommended that environmental parameter ranges 31oC temperature and 22.1 salinity are favorable for the growth of grouper. Survival mean of 88 percent is attained with mortality of fish comprising 12 percent of the total stock caused by stress during transport/stocking.
