The study determines the optimum fertilizer and mulching materials of the different coffee species under various conditions, the fertilizer and mulching requirements of coffee species in relation to age of the tree, and the effect of various fertilizer levels and mulching materials on the growth and subsequent yield of various coffee varieties. The results show no significant difference on the yield as affected by species, mulching materials and fertilizer application, 25-36 months after planting. Significant interaction effect was revealed between species of coffee and mulching materials used. Mulching materials and fertilizer level showed significant effect on the yield of coffee species, 27-39 months after transplanting.
