The reading ability of grade three pupils in all schools of the four districts in Iligan City SY 2000-2001 is assessed. Moreover, the factors affecting the reading ability level are identified and the extent of its effect is determined as observed by teachers as to physiological, intellectual, psychological and linguistic factors.
