Evaluation of indigeneous and exogeneous varieties of corn

Annotation

The study identifies promising varieties of corn which are adaptable in the Philippines. Three varieties are found to yield better in the dry season, namely, Poza Rica 8326, Pirsabak 8331 and Ferke 8326 which yielded 5.58, 5.48 and 5.43 tons per hectare respectively. In the wet season, five varieties produce higher yields. These are Across 8243 (6.83 tons/ha.), Across 8136 (6.5 tons/ha.), Capinopolis 8224 (7.15 tons/ha.), Suvan 8243 (7.05 tons/ha.) and Across 7729 RE (6.23 tons/ha.).
