Five cylindrical plastic scintillators of the same diameter but different thickness are optically mounted to 1 type of photomultiplier tube. Opening voltage of each detector is determined by making a counter plateau measurement. Oscilloscope is used to characterize anode signal from each detector. Energy spectra of the incident particles are measured with the aid of standard nuclear instruments called NIM and CAMAC.
