Results reveal that mulching highly reduced soil loss and surface run-off. Plots with strip + mulched with flemengia hedgerow significantly show the least soil loss of 0.987 tons/ha in the wet and 0.822 tons/ha in dry seasons, respectively, while the control had the highest average of 8.64 and 8.53 tons/ha of soil loss in both cropping seasons. Mulching treatments have similar effects on soil surface run-off but are significantly higher during wet than in dry season
