The economics of cage culture in three lakes of Mindanao (Buluan, Sebu and Lanao) is studied. Average production cost per farms is highest in Lake Buluan, followed by Lake Lanao. Lake Sebu incurred the least production cost. The most common problems of cage operators in three lakes are overcrowding, lack of capital, robbery and lack of technical know-how on tilapia cage culture.
