This study compares the existing levels of technology in carabao production. Interviewed are 405 farmer-respondents from Davao del Norte, South Cotabato (Region XI), North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat (Region XII). High production level of technology is associated with the number of persons involved in taking care of the carabaos, sex of carabao, ethnic origin (specifically Ilocano) and location. Carabaos in irrigated farms have higher productivity than those in non-irrigated farms. Other social and economic factors identified are also associated with one or more of the management practices in carabao raising.
