This paper covers the result of the preliminary investigation of dogfish shark fishery in Northern Mindanao, which includes gear technology, catch and size composition, marketing, and utilization aspects. In particular, the study assesses all land catches for body length, liver length and weight, sex ratio and maturity, stomach content and other pertinent biological and ecological data. Catch efficiency of the gears is evaluated by actual counting and by the administration of questionnaires to fishermen. Also, a survey of dogfish shark production, market demand situation, marketing practices and fishermen-wholesaler relation are also conducted along different sites in Mindanao. (Also in AF)
