Bearing plays a vital role in the proper operation and life of motors. An instrument that is affordable yet imbibes the power of modern technology is needful to be developed. Thus, the study aims at developing a PC-based instrument to determine the wear condition of bearings using the traditional, low cost, locally available stethoscope as vibration sensor.
