Determinants of persistency/ withdrawal behavior of college students during the freshman year

Annotation

Results show that some factors associated with persistence / withdrawal behavior are: age, type of high school, high school achievement, family decision-making pattern, and quality and impact of students informal contact with faculty. Of the 26 percent that withdrew, the most common reason for withdrawal is transferring from one school to another and shifting from one course to another. Other reasons are: the difficulties of passing, loneliness, health and financial problems.
