Davao: The love story of Don Jose de Oyanguren (its Basque colonizer)

Annotation

The book is a tale of the historical conquest of Davao, in the Southern part of Mindanao before the Spaniards conquered it in 1847. The story begins with a Samal maiden and her native life and goes on gradually to the historical coming of Don Jose de Oyanguren, its colonizer. It resulted in the conquest of Davao from the hands of Datu Bago, who was then holding Davao as his territory. Included in this book are photographic reproduction of the marriage and baptismal certificates in 1800s.
