This study determines the key success factors of pier terminal industry and formulate strategies for Dole Terminal and Integrated Services (DTIS) to further improve its pier terminal operations. Vital to an effective pier terminal operations are the following factors: (1) Port expansions and modernization of port equipment and facilities, (2) Efficient planning and implementation of bathing inspections, (3) Presence of highly trained stevedoring and arrastre group, (4) Improve container yard facilities with the corresponding enhancement in Information technology, (5) Type of vessel and vessel equipment, (6) Coordination with shipping agents/agencies for vessel clearance and documentation.
