This paper focuses on soil conservation through contouring. Steps in applying the contour hedgerows in sloping cultivations are properly explained. Leguminous species are preferable in this kind of technology. Conservation and amelioration of soil will not only help the farmers increase their cash crop production and income but also promote healthy vegetative growth which biomass will favorably affect the climatic factors in the locality.
