Majority of the respondents have M.A. units, with average intellectual capacity and with below ten years of teaching experience. Although they are non-English majors, they are communicatively competent as manifested by their performance in the communicative competence test. Though the respondents are competent in their overall level of communicative competence, they are just fairly competent in the criteria under the written category of the test.
