An essay discussing the marriage customs and practices of the Maranao. There are two types of marriage among the Maranaos: arranged marriage and marriage through courtship. The different stages in the process of marriage as well as the different types of dowry are also discussed. The essay ends with a discussion of the dissolution of the marriage bond or divorce among the Maranaos.
