Traces historically the friction between Muslims and Christian Filipinos. It discusses the coming of the Muslims to the Southern part of the country the spread of Islam the reaction of the Muslims to the colonizers particularly the Spaniards and Americans and Muslim-Christian relations which is characterized by violence, distrust and misunderstanding because of their different traditions and rival economic interests and historical experience. Integration is offered as a solution. The researcher mentions special legislative measures promulgated for the benefit of cultural communities, principally the Muslims.
